Details on the Buick Regal Hybrid

Over at General Motors, the next generation of sporty Buick Regal sedans has been introduced. For those who want horsepower, along with a bit of fuel economy, there's an all new Regal variant headed to dealerships soon.

Yes, hybrid is king these days, and GM knows it. The Buick Regal hybrid has been announced. Starting with a price tag of $29,530 with the eAssist system implemented, Buick isn't exactly calling this car a 'hybrid.'

"Buick continues to avoid the term "hybrid" ...with this package on the Regal and LaCrosse, preferring to call it 'light electrification.'"1

But no matter what it is badged as, this Regal is measured with a fuel economy rating of 25 mpg city, 36 highway.

This Buick Regal eAssist package includes: improved aerodynamics, enhanced tires, start-stop technology, energy-capturing regenerative brakes, lithium-ion battery coupled to a small electric motor, and Eco gauge with "powerflow" graphics for driver feedback.

Looking for a little more power? The Regal GS (with a price around $35,000) 2.0 turbocharged engine produces 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, matted to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Average mpg on this model is estimated at 27.

Gurley Leep GM has all the Buick variants you could ever wish for. Take one for a test drive today!
